Chas has been playing golf since he was 13, after being successful in representing Marlborough in squash, rugby, and golf and being college champion in tennis and badminton. Since deciding to concentrate on golf he made a scratch handicap after only 3 years and equalled the unofficial course record at Fairhall of -8. He won 2 club championships in 2013 at the age of 17 and has reached top 10 for U19 in New Zealand. He currently has the lowest handicap in Marlborough at +1.6. By the end of next year, he will have become a full NZPGA member giving him playing status in NZ for life. He plans to play the Australasian qualifier at the end of this year and go to Asia the following year to play their school, where you get one shot to qualify to play for a year.
