“Taekwondo is my life”, says Erin and it is this whole-hearted commitment to the sport that led her to gain her 1st Dan Black Belt in 2021, place 2nd in the NZ National Championships in her division this year and put herself in contention for the NZ team in 2023. To achieve her dream of being selected for the NZ team and competing internationally Erin will travel to Wellington monthly to train with Capital City Kyorugi Academy who boast the best coaches and competitors in NZ. In addition to working on her own techniques, fitness and flexibility every day Erin is also an active club member - setting up, taking classes, fundraising and attending meetings.
