Angus picked up an oar in year 9 and 3 years later was selected to represent the South Island U18 team against the North Island. It was from there he set his sights on making the NZ Junior team. He achieved that in 2016 when he represented NZ at the World championships, the year he was also top oarsman at Marlborough Boys College. In 2017 he won Gold in the coxless pair and Gold in the 8’s and was part of the undefeated New Zealand U21 men’s pair in the Trans-Tasman Series. He was then selected for the 2018 U23 team to compete at the World Rowing Championships in Poznan, Poland, later this year. His next goal is to secure himself one of the four spaces in the elite men’s four going to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
