Jack has learnt the cornet from the age of 7 under the tutelage of Kevin Moseley. He quickly progressed to principal cornet of the Junior Brass band and now also plays solo cornet in the Marlborough District Brass Band. The experience of going to the National competition in 2019 changed his musical journey. Jack is currently studying for NCEA level 2 music, has his Grade 4 Music Theory qualification and was placed first in his class for music. He also teaches trumpet at Marlborough Boys College. His teachers talk not only of his passion for music and outstanding abilities, they also commend him on his leadership and willingness to give back. Jack aspires to be either a classical or jazz trumpeter.
