Mila started rowing in Year 9 at Marlborough Girls College. After struggling initially with the technical aspects, she persevered and quickly fell in love with the sport and process of improving herself in rowing’s various components - Technical, Endurance and Power. In 2023 Mila was part of the MGC U16 4+ that won Gold at the Maadi Cup, setting a new course record, and in 2024 they secured a bronze in the U18 4+ (the first medal for an MGC U18 team for 12 years). Mila’s tenacity, determination and a striving for continuous improvement has resulted in her selection for the NZ U19 Coxless Fours to compete at the World Junior Championships in Canada this year. Her grant goes towards the cost to attend the World Champs. In the future Mila wants to continue her selection in NZ teams as well as undertaking a rowing scholarship in the US.
